January London Weekend cont'd

So I have been hiding in my room all week. So sorry I havent gotten this up sooner. So did I get my waffles? Yeps I did. We went back to Leicester Square where I had seen a pancake house and some other people got pancakes (crepes) and I gots me some waffles! Good ol' traditional waffles and syrup. I was in heaven! Had been craving those for soo long! We all chatted for abit and then tried to decide where we wanted to go/what we wanted to do. We wandered around for about an hour or so looking for a pub we could just stop into and get a casual drink before going back to the hostel to hang out. We could not find one anywhere that wasnt squeeze packed full. So we headed over to a Sainsbury's and gots us some booze! Sorry, I think I am slowly being driven insane by this high pitched noice that is engulfing the computer lab. Other people can hear it too, so I know I am not the only one!

Anywho we then proceeded to a pizza hut so Kurtis could get something to eat (he didnt feel like having pancakes). We chatted, it started to rain and we got the tube back to the hostel. I had picked up Grouse Whiskey or something to that effect and it ended up being really nice. We gathered in our hostel room of which non of the other residence were in at the time and tried to decide on a game to play. We eventually decided on I never. Basically, if you dont know the game, its where one person says something they have never done and anyone who has done that thing has to drink and if they feel like it they can share the story or a story or we can talk about it or whatever. The goal is to get everyone else drunk before you or at last finish their drinks. These games usually end up getting really sexual question minded, but this time it wasnt so bad. We actually ended up after a while getting into really deep discussions about stuff. We laughed a lot too and learned new things about eachother. It was fun. Eventually one person from outside the group came back to the room and decided they wanted to sleep so we moved the talk outside the room, but very soon we all decided we wanted to go to bed.

Libby woke up feeling kinda funky. I can honestly say I think I was still drunk when I woke up and lucky me I got to ride on the tube for 30 minutes to get to the Portrait Gallery. It was not the most fun ride, but when we got to the gallery everyone split up and I decided to go accross the street to a Pret Manger and get some breakfast. It made me feel soo much better, but I was not really in the mood to take pictures, or at least I didnt have the energy to pull out my camera. Hee, silly Libby. I met Amanda back at the Gallery and we took a look around while Katie and Kari went through the Annie Lebovitz exhibit (I had already seen it in December). Our next stop was the Tate Modern Museum. We had a nice walk there, got to see more of the city than if we took the tube. At one point there was a huge puddle that loads of people were trying to side step but there was only room for one person at a time. After we had managed to get to the other side we looked back to see the people behind us trying to cross while a little boy splashed his way through completely destroying their purpose of cramming throught the side part. What a good little boy!

We also saw some people on the beach below us on Thames doing weird tricks with fire battons and fire whips and stuff. It was really interesting. At one point a bunch of their friends came over and threw these huge branches over the side almost on top of them. Dont know what they were for cause we gots ourselves outa there. Anywho the Tate Modern was interesting. Except the random ones that were just paint with stripes or blobs or whatever. I mean why? The lines werent even clean, it was pretty sloppy. Bothers me that people can become famous for this in an artistic sense. I mean if it is for Interior design thats cool, but for an art exhibit? Our next stop was Victoria Station to get a train back to Polegate where we would catch a mini-bus back to the Castle. The ride back was uneventful as most people slept or read or listened to music. When we got to Polegate we realised that we had an hour to wait for the mini-bus. So we went to the liquer stre. They had a deal on for ales so I gots four different kinds to try for next time I drink. One is Spitfire, to honour the Battle of Britain, another is Fursty Farrets, which I am sooo excited to try, another is hobgobblins or something and the last is this fruitsy one that the girl working there recommended to me. We then spent the next half hour in a convenience store reading the magazines and remenissing over the candy and what we used to like when we were little.

Eventually our Mini-bus got there and we were back intime for supper! FOOFOO. It was so disappointing. We were really excited for a real meal, not a store bought one or whatever and we were so disappointed, I dont remember what there was but I do know I only had salad that night and a bun. Boo. Nothing too interesting happened that week I dont think until the Thursday, which will ahve to wait for next time as this blogis already too long and I promised I would shorten these down. Until enxt time!
